Nicole Goodman has been capturing our ears, hearts, and minds with her special gift of audible mastery over the past many years at various Penders, most recently at the BioMass event at the Bloedel Conservatory, and many other intimate and unique venues some of you may have had the fortune of hearing her perform at. To say her sets are a trip would be a gross understatement. They take the listener to other worlds, other dimensions, other times - past, present and future, from memories of our childhood to glimpses of our own old age. They are journeys to both inner and outer space, unlike any other, beyond description or compare.

The majority of Nicole’s performances have taken place at Pender, and as such those who have been witness to her musical wizardry have generally been limited to those who have attended one over the years - and usually only 10-20 people at a time. My vision for this event was to recreate that Pender experience in as much detail as possible, but in a setting that could host a much larger collective of listeners, bringing together many of the people who have been touched by Nicole’s performances over the years as well as many who have only heard about them but have yet to experience one.

I have rented a beautiful dance studio type loft space on Pender (what a coincidence) Street, half a block west of Main Street, and will be covering the floor with an 8 inch thick crash mat to create a soft landing for listeners to fall on, a comfortable seat from which to enjoy Nicole’s three hour set. The sound system will be all around you, so the audio experience is as immersive as possible, and the lighting will be soft and pleasant on the eyes so the focus can be on the musical journey before you. Fruit and water will be provided, though you are welcome to bring any food and drinks you wish (if alcoholic we simply ask that you be extremely discrete when you bring them into the venue and while you consume them - we will have paper cups on hand for you to use if needed).

PLEASE NOTE: This will be a private event, guests will not be able to invite guests via the event page. Each invitation will include a +1, however capacity will be limited. If you wish to bring someone not currently invited, please let Richard or Nicole know. Tickets will not be available at the door.
